Started a new one tonight. This car was one of the first California Highway Patrol four-wheel vehicles. At the time of the formation of the Patrol in 1929 virtually all Officers rode motorcycles. The four-wheel vehicles were assigned to supervisors. As I said, this was one of the first. When the model is completed I intend for it to look substantially like this. The 1/1 car was restored by Sgt. Bryan Duncan. Sgt. Duncan and his wife are shown standing next to the car. Sgt. Duncan is wearing a California Highway Patrol uniform of 1930s vintage. More to follow. I hope you guys like this one.

The first thing I found with this kit was that the body is in two parts. In addition, the engraving for the fabric insert in the top, to put it mildly, sucked. I sanded the engraving off the roof and replaced it with half round styrene. It still needs a bit of work, but I think it will work out pretty well. The top and the bottom of the body, even after fitting, did not align well. There was a small gap completely around the joint. The gap will need to be filled. I have started the process using AC and accelerator. It still needs quite a bit of work, but I think it will be acceptable when done.
