I just read the following on facebook - our thoughts and prayers are out to Jerry G..........

PLEASE READ. To my friends...wish me well. On Saturday, 1/26/03, I stated loosing blood at a high rate. By noon I was rushed to trauma emergency room. I was on the edge. I had lost almost a gallon &1/2. Upper surgery on Sunday found some legion on my upper half. Took biopsy on them and will know results tomorow. Lower surgry this a.m., found and removed some polups and sending them in. They saw one large on, about the size of two golf balls. Took a sample of that as well. It is that one that has them concerned. That one has to be removed But if cancerous, They will have to remove the intestion around it. and go from there.
Don't know what the future holds for me. Really weak right now no food for 3 days now. Will know more Thursday. Need some good thoughts and prayers. Love, Jerry

UPDATE: Well, with the lab reports coming back (awaiting 2 more as of this Friday), The first 3 were negative for cancer. The one that has them concerned the most though, will have to be tested after surgery. Because of the size, they could only scrape so far in. So they will cut out my intestine 7 inches on each side of it, 6 rows of metal staples to reconnect, Ugh, and send it away for testing. Surgery is being scheduled at the end of the month to allow time for our daughter from Texas to be with us. The biggest threat is also from infection from the surgery being it's low in the bowls. Looks like a 7-10 day stay, than recovery at home.
At this time I want THANK EVERYBODY for their words of support and prayers. It really meant a lot to me in these past days to get by. I slept for 4 solid hours last night. Yeah. Some pain always there but not bad. I've never had not even a broken bone in my life, now have to deal with a major surgery. It's great to have my loving wife(who has been so much for me), loving Family and GREAT friends to get by. I'll only post one more update as the other two results come in, and kinda not talk much more about it. Thank you again everyone from the bottom of my heart, Jerry
