I'm not sure this is what you are looking for, but in my thread in the diorama forum -- 1930s Texaco Station -- I show how I form ribbed panels to create a corregated metal roof.

I've done this using 99cent aluminum pans. Very thin so have to be carefull working with it, but basically used a ball point pen and lay the material on a dense pc. of cardboard, lay your straight edge and press lightly! Drew

Drew We did similar to this in Ind.Arts Class 40yrs ago... I believe this is you answer Big Ed.

I do some of mine in plastic and thin rods. Glue rods into place where you want the ribs. Then block sand slightly to desired hiegth. Cover with aluminum foil. That is just another way if you want other option..
