WOW! Super clean and sharp Chuck!! Just how "difficult" was it working with those decals?!?!?!?? Thank You for sharing Later Russ Well Russ , there were 3 sets of these decals that were ever made.. I bought 2 sets ... Like a dummy I installed the 1st set of decals with zero problems.. they were like working with wet tissue paper !.. after their installation I decided to paint the chrome trim vs. Bare-Metal-Foil . so I masked off the body for the paint around the front and rear window .. well ... well.. as I was removing the masking tape (3-M Fineline) it just laid over on the gold leaf and from that point the only thing I could do was to remove it carefully and see what happened.. well Murphy's law took over and pulled pieces of the gold leaf off the car. YIKES!!! so I pulled out the spare set and went to work .. also I might add that I cut all the plastic out between the grille bars.. this was a VERY time consuming job but after destroying about a dozen grille's I managed to finish one without breaking any of the bars .. look closely in the next to the last photo and you'll see the openings.. that isn't blackwash !!

WOW Chuck! That is one rough story and a truly impressive build!! That has got to be one of the worst things to have happen on a "giving it the all" build!!! My hat is off to You for the grille work, time and patience!!!! Again Thank You for sharing and My complements ten fold!! Later Russ

Beautiful job on a very nice car.
I can see how those decals could be finicky.

They used to call him "Mr. Reflexes" back when. Thanx for your creation and the work to get the body, paint and decals just right! It was a long time coming .. gathering parts and kandy paint ... this thing really lights up in the sunlight ! .. I made the mistake of painting it based of of the paint code given to me by the present owner Bill Porterfield.. and never took into consideration the smaller scale body that the paint would look darker .. it does however match when setting on the radiator of the ZL-1 .. dang,,, what did I do with that photo.. I'm still in contact with Val. Harrell (Dick's Daughter married to Dale Pulde).. Dick was an awesome guy and a hell of a racer .. he is missed ..
