This is called The Cyclops
We have Dish network and one of the remote controls died. Dish sent me a new one and said to toss out the old one. As I was removing the batteries I noticed that the profile looked like some kind of car body and BAM a thought came to mind. Why not build a model out of it? The size is about 1/25th scale so why not? I am a big fan of Ed Roth and I think this touches some parts of his creations.
I added these parts just to see if I was on the right track. I hadn’t planned on permanently adding them.
The bubble comes from a clear deviled egg tray I got from the dollar store.
The fenders are altered from maybe a ’32 Ford. I added some rear brake vents. The yellow sunken engine compartment is from the Sand Shark, only upside down. There were lots of holes from all the buttons to putty and sand and putty and sand and prime and putty some more.
I added a headlight from a 1/12th scale motorcycle to make the single headlight, and I added sheet styrene to make it flow around.
Here is the rest of the story. The front and rear bumpers are scratch built covered in BMF. The interior is scratch built and parts box. The engine needed to be really different so I used one from a Viper. I molded the tail light housing to the body and used the holes from the infrared lights for the exhaust ports. I painted it black and shot some Inca Gold from a distance to get that pixilated affect, as a bonus it made it look greenish.
I hope you like it
