Alright then... We have a small turn out, but all 3 look like winners. And there just happens to be 3 places for the winners.

Well here we are once again !!! 11 members said ( I'm in ) And only 3 members finished !!! This is my sixth straight contest , And every one of than more than half the members dropped out !!! And with out any notice . I don't think it is fear to the other members . It seems to me it's just not worth doing contest anymore !!! We all have our busy lives to deal with.. I guess what I am trying to say in a nice way is; think before you say ( I'm In ) Just my two pennies !!!!

This is true to what happens in everything. You cannot let this discourage you in anyway. This is a HOBBY, life continues on around us, and sometimes consumes us. Most of us had good intentions, but had distractions. Kudos to those that made it, and best of luck next time to those that didn't. Hope to see you post your builds when finished.

I have to apologize for not finishing my entry. I was not all that interested in building anything when the contest started, but I thought having a deadline to finish a model would keep me focused and allow me to finish a model (something I haven't done in ages). I was disappointed that out of 11 entries, only four were willing to share their progress. I was moving along when I needed help with researching some details, I asked for help on three forums and got no help. I finally PM'ed a member on CC and got the needed info. This was around mid September and I had plenty of time to finish.
Unfortunately my car decided to stop running and the job I was on screwed up. Once that got straitened out I wound up having to take my mom to the ER. The doctors really didn't think she would make it through the night. Luckily she came through the surgery and is mending quickly. She still has a massive amount of infection in her body and we are on week 3 of her being in the hospital. When she leaves the hospital, she'll be going to a rehab facility for a few more weeks.
I did try to work on my build a little during all of this, but the paint screwed up while doing the graphics and that was the nail in the coffin for me. I snapped and destroyed the body.
Like I said, I'm sorry if I let anyone down, but life really got in the way for me.

Steve-o my friend, I have to take my share of responsibility for this kind of turn out. This is a small forum, In order to keep things moving along, and progressing. Someone needs to do daily reviews, and evaluations to see what is required for good health, and sustainability. Someone has to stir the pot to keep the interest flowing. This is the job of the admin. I take credit for the growth, and early success of this forum. Why? Because I made it my life to be here, and nurture it. Well that's changed... I realized how much I missed building stuff myself. The First Anniversary Contest was a huge success, but I lived here trying to keep the interest flowing.

Bill my pal . There is no finger pointing on my end . I spoke about how the fun, & joy of model building Is slowing dying out in the past . We all have to remember this is our hobby !! Not our lives "LOL" I Think we should all build for fun when time is permitted It seems that the contest, & deadlines is what is killing everyone .. Maybe we should all put contest on the back burners for awhile And just have fun... I guess what I am trying to say in a nut-shell is; And this goes to all the members everywhere. Don't let this Hobby die out !!! There are way to many Skilled model builders out there and a lot of great people to boot !!! We must keep the fun, joy, & good times rolling !!! So cut the Crap!! get building And show off your stuff !!!! Cheers !!!

These great model forums vary in interest from time to time and I've seen a few die and new ones come along. They survive with out fotos, opinions and comments. I don't mind contests, as long as we don't take them too seriously. That way everyone who enters is both sharing finished models and adding to interest in the site. High praise to all who help these model clubs prosper and I hope the new year (and cold temps) will build interest, thanx!
