I picked up this Chrysler 300 at a show because I wanted the rear fins for a project. After cutting off the rear for that project I saw that the front end of the 300 looked really cool sitting low on the chassis, so I tried to think up something for the rear part. I went thru a few different rears mostly pickup truck beds. One from the Deora, a bed from a ’55 Chevy Cameo and a bed from a monster truck. I almost settled on the monster truck bed when I saw the rear panels from a previously cut up ’53 Chevy Panel delivery for another project and BINGO! I found the rear I was looking for! I filled in the fenders and added some wings (of course I did!). I will get the front even lower and add a cover for the bed. I also cut up the roof shortened and narrowed it to fit. It’s funny, I was working on 2 other projects and this one was something that materialized on the bench. This is not normally how I do things. I don’t like working on more than one at a time until it’s finished but I had to go with the flow. I know unforgiven likes low riders and if he or anyone has any suggestions I am all ears. Dave The inspiration: I tried the Deora bed but didn’t like it. I tried a 55 Chevy Cameo bed but didn’t like that either: I tried a bed from a monster truck. If I filled in the wheel areas I was almost going to use it: And then sitting on the bench under plastic scraps I found the rear panels from a 53 Chevy panel delivery. I know I am mixing a Chevy with a Chrysler but IMHO it looks cool! After some altering the roof, adding wings and some putty: I need to do some trimming on the end of the fins.

OK, now that's the ticket right there buddy, but still a lil in the nose bleed section, I know you have the skills, so don't be afraid drop that puppy to the ants back, just remember to keep some clearance for the oil pan, or you will have to do like a I did on the way fine '59, tail drag it.
I will dig out one of the 300s I have and see if I can help you out any on the drop, in the next few days, I'm kinda wrap'd up in the engine of Tainted love right now....

OK my brother, I have dropped it as far as she can go. The tops of the front tires are rubbing the underneath of the fenders. Unless I get smaller diameter tires this is as far as it goes. The rear is as far as it goes too......down to the ants back! I made a tailgate too. Sorry about the blurry pic. Dave

AHHHHHH! much better, a set of lake pipes, and a set of bellflowers, and she will look super slammed, a lil knon black magic here, if u want to go even lower cut the tops of your tire's off, yea i said that, it will give you even more room to drop her, no I never have done it, on a build but in practice I have, but this looks as she sit's, like I said, lake pipes. (side pipes) and bellflowers ( pipe's that come out just behind the rear tire, and run down the quarter, to the end of the car) with tip's of coarse. great job....

Looking good. I like the way you have slammed it. If you are still looking for tires, take a look at the HoppinHydros site. They have a number of low profile tires at a reasonable price. Good service too in my experience with them.

OK, now that I got the stance correct....many thanks unforgiven! I also learned some terminology....."Drop that puppy to the ants back". I had to look up "bellflower pipes"....very cool! I added a bed cover.....so far I like it. I also did the tail lights as double fins......man do I ever love fins!!!! I'll do some putty work on them to get 'em smoothed out. I have to find something to use as a rear bumper. Maybe I'll use the one from the '53. I think it needs a big ass bumper though....

How did You make the Louvers in the bed cover? I got a project going and would like to put louvers in the hood and trunk. Thank You Dave Later Russ

How did You make the Louvers in the bed cover? I got a project going and would like to put louvers in the hood and truck of it. Thank You Dave Later Russ I didn't make them. I had a roof from a Monogram S'Cool Bus and cut it out of that. The roof plastic on that model is about 3\8" thick...it took forever to cut. The louvers could probably be made using a very small half round molding. Dave

OK, I have to admit, I thought you had lost your marbles. I just couldn't see this working, then you posted this pic and everything fell into place. Those lower fins really do it for me. I love when I can't figure out someone else's build and then all of a sudden it makes sense. This is way cool Dave. I have a suggestion for you,. A bumper under the bottom fins breaks up that great upper and lower fin design. What if you cut the lower fins off, then remount them so the bottom of the fin is where the bottom of the bumper would have been, then build a simple rollpan out of 1/2" tube between the fins. A quick and crude edit to show what I was talking about.

Look'n great man, here is an idea, I would go with the roll'd pan, but mold it into the lower rear fins, and make it look all one piece, thats just me, but this is looking great, keep at it, you will never go back to building oob's again buddy.....
