I build about 2 or 3 modified models and about 4 box stock models every year. This one is box stock. Started it about a month ago.
There's a few steps to this paint job, all done with spray cans. First a base coat of silver leaf.
I'm doing a fade paint job, using think paper as a mask wrapped around the body, leaving the bottom edge showing.
Hit it with light met blue.
Then I moved the mask up and hit it with translucent pink, this turned the blue to purple.
Brought the mask back down and hit the bottom edge in pink again. Giving it a pink to purple to pink fade.
Did it on the front and back as well.
This is where it becomes a paint job.
These are craft stickers, used for card and scrapbook making.
Using the stickers as masks, I placed them on the fade lines.
Then hit it all with metallic black.
